Dinner at the 99
The Black Veil has been lifted, the mourning is over. The Countess, Brian and I had dinner last night. As per usual it was laughs and giggles. The Countess du Barry received a verbal beating for wanting to go to the 99 Restaurant for appetizers..... I got my way. Yes we made a scene. The Countess had already downed 6 Glenlivets so she was off and running. Brian had one of those 26 oz. beers . I myself just had a White Wine. The waitress had worked a double and was ready to party with us.
Back at the Castle Bedelia my Christmas cookies were dessert. The Countess scooped out ice cream and again more laughs and giggles. You might think we were 10 years old and never see each other out of school.

This is the cookie box after we devoured our dessert!
Another fun night!

Sad Times
A dear friend Bob Graham passed away last night. He was the partner of my good friend Barbara Peters. Bob was a great guy. His love for his family and friends, the outdoors, and a good game of golf was what made him the most happy.
We should all be so lucky as to go out one night like Bob and Barbara did, have a great time, and then go home and get"Called Back". What a way to go. We should all be so lucky. Take it from me, life is too short. Live each day like it is your last.
Bob will sure be missed. We just had dinner last week. He gave me a great new way to make shrimp cocktail sauce. I think I will use it on Christmas Eve.
My beloved Mother passed away two years ago Saturday. I miss her every day. She is on my mind now more than ever for the Holidays. Christmas was her time of year. We made Christmas cookies together every year. I did it alone this year but it was just not the same.
My Blog screen will be black for a few days. Have a great weekend.

Girls Night Out
It's coming back to me now. After my second cup of coffee this morning the blurr of last night is painfully coming back. As I strolled down Newbury Street yesterday afternoon killing time before the arrival of the Countess and Mr. Brian,I did do some window shopping.I stopped by to see some old friends in Boston from when I lived there some years ago.I had a great lunch and then off to Copley Place and Club Cafe.
I sat with the Bartender til the arrival of Mr. Brian. We downed two Martinis by the time the Countess arrived. Then I think two more, that part is not too clear. We then sat down to dinner. Much of this was a blur. I do remember the wonderful Sea Scallops I had. Brian, I think, did pork and the Countess had steak. She had done all the turkey she could. Then all of a sudden came the creme brulee that was over the top.
By this time I was slurring my words and had a bad case of double vision.Mr Brian stuffed me into a Boston cab, said South Station, and hit the roof of the cab and I was gone. I mean really gone. After paying the cab fare, I ran to catch my ride back to Newport when I realized my wallet was missing. My first drunken thought was that it was in the cab. I called Brian to see if he remembered the cab Co. He didn't. On my ride home my cell phone rang and there was a woman on the other end who said she had found the wallet and would mail it to me. HOW WONDERFUL IS THAT!!! I had called all the banks and credit card companies so I was safe there.
So today I am so happy to have my wallet returned to me soon. But the Countess du Barry feels a little under the weather today.
All in all I had the time of my life.
